Born in 1971 from a religious family, Ed grew up listening to music. His first contact with a musical instrument was the at that time, family owned upright piano Edward Sponigel. An 80 year old piano at that time… today, probably owned by someone else, that piano must be close to 100 years old… It was made of solid wood (don’t know what kind) and had a marfin keyboard.

Ed spent most of his young years in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro in a small yet beautiful city called Teresópolis after a few years of classic piano lessons provided by Mrs. Eleonor de Freitas. She passed away before the end of his lessons unfortunately.

Ed Carvalho moved to the United States with his father, mother and younger brother in 1992. In 2001 his mother passed away, in 2004 his brother went back to Brazil followed by his father.

He continues to play his music using some keyboards bought along the years. A Roland EM-305, a Korg microKORG and a Korg W/01.

Hope everyone enjoys the music. His music is sad, melancholic however, played with the heart.
